Our Values

An Intentional Aesthetic

As placemakers, it is our job to create a neighborhood that is both beautiful and functional, one that will be built, loved and maintained over generations. Through the lens of traditional architecture and the use of authentic materials—including raw wood and local stone—The Meadows will be designed as a community with a distinct sense of place. Our planners in this effort are Dover Kohl and Partners, an award-winning New Urbanist design firm focused on sustainable, smart growth projects that revitalize both urban and rural communities.

In Balance with Nature

An unusual aspect of The Meadows is its senior water rights (first priority on Cottonwood Creek, plus three additional claims). This ensures that we can provide long-term water access to residents, businesses and local farmers (who already use the land), without adding to the town’s existing water burden. Protecting this asset—and the overall ecology of the property—is thus a priority in our planning process.

Inclusive by Design

Workforce housing is one of Buena Vista’s most urgent priorities. In fact, long-term access to attractive, yet affordable, housing is a necessity for any well-functioning town. In addition, we believe this housing should be complemented by the creation of new income streams to better sustain our workforce. Our goal is to create a mixed-use neighborhood that offers a range of housing solutions alongside local businesses that provide well-paying, year-round jobs in tourism, agriculture and other industries.

For the Whole Community

A traditional neighborhood in a parklike setting, The Meadows will offer ample opportunities for recreation, relaxation and entertainment. From independent restaurants and boutiques, to an outdoor- and wellness-oriented resort and an amphitheater for concerts, events and performances, the property will provide both business opportunities and new amenities for the entire town of Buena Vista, while generating meaningful sales, lodging and property tax dollars to fund additional municipal projects.
